Global Business Talent F.E.C.

Global Business Talent F.E.C.* program provides participants with an overall understanding of the Finnish business environment and its principles, including business knowledge, product development, project management, and internationalization. The program enables participants to contribute to the business development of the company, for example, in product development or export roles. It also helps participants to recognize and market their expertise in the Finnish labor market.

Global Business Talent F.E.C. training program is part of the Talent Boost – International talents boosting growth program of the Finnish Government. Talent Boost aims to attract international talents to the Finnish labor market and harness the expertise of the international talents already in Finland to support Finnish companies and markets.

*) Global Business Talent F.E.C. is Further Educated with Companies training concept with the aim of concluding an employment contract. Its purpose is to reconcile the current expertise, development, and career goals of job seekers with the needs of potential new employers. The program lasts around six months and includes Aalto PRO’s high-quality training, as well as practical work with a partner company.

For

The program’s target group is international degree students who have recently graduated from a university in the capital region. Unemployed immigrants or immigrants under the threat of unemployment who have a university degree from another country and have relevant work experience in their field of expertise can be accepted to the program. The program is also suitable for immigrants living in Finland because of their spouse’s work, or Finnish citizens moving back to Finland from abroad.

To be eligible, participants need to have sufficient mastery of English, as the program will be delivered in English. Also, foreign individuals must have a right to the public employment and business services, i.e. TE Services. Applicants must have completed their Bachelor, Master or PhD degree from different fields of science (excluding information technologies). Full-time students cannot be selected.

Contents and Schedule

The training program consists of lectures, workshops, individual learning, and tutoring services. Each participant will be assigned a mentor in their partner company during the program. Participants will also receive tutoring during the program to support their learning and potential for employment.

For the duration of the program, the participant, company, and Aalto PRO will sign a contract. Chosen participants will work for their matched company for about 80% of the time allocated for the program.

Training is supported by Uusimaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.

In addition to working in the company and participating in the shared learning modules, participants will have the possibility to select from pre-selected training modules that support best their performance and development. Examples of possible roles and supportive modules

  • Product development: supportive online courses in innovation leadership, service management, and accounting develops the expertise in R&D and investments and provides the participant with the ability to negotiate convincingly with international clients.

  • Export: negotiations skills program provides a solid base to work with the export team and negotiate with international clients.
